Bakerloo Line & Londinium Overground To Open Simultaneously

Following the rapid completion of the Londinium Overground, with the northern sections already completed, Transport for Londinium have officially announced, given that all of the southern stations on the Overground are served by the Bakerloo line, that both the Bakerloo line and the Overground network will open at the same time, with the time estimate being ‘within the next few days’. This follows the original announcement of the Overground network, which had a much more pessimistic time estimate.

This follows the updated route map, which has made two changes — the removal of Regent Street as a station and the removal of the Finsbury Park stop on the Mildmay line. Regent Street was removed ‘due to a lack of space’ and Finsbury Park was removed as a stop because Cockfosters Overground station had to be moved further east that TfL had originally planned. The Weaver and Windrush lines now terminate one stop prior, at Baker Street and Charing Cross respectively.
